911 All Aluminum LS Series V-8 Conversion
(For 911/912/930/964 hereafter referred to as 911)

Renegade Hybrids has been in the German car engine conversion industry for over 25 years now. Many companies have come and gone with some good ideas and some novel attempts, but we remain the leader in our field with superior engineering and execution. Our 911 LS Series is no exception!

From the outside, an LS Series powered 911 will look perfectly stock. Even the cooling system opening on the front of the car can be fashioned like the front of an RSR or Turbo 911 with an oil cooler. The stock deck lid will clear wonderfully and the exhaust system will hide under the rear of the car with a single stock tip tucked nicely into the factory location, if that's what you would prefer.

From the inside, stock gauges will monitor the LS Series without fail, and the feeling of the pedal operation will be unchanged. Even the original key switch will function as intended.

Under the hood, however, is a different story. At first glance, many find the LS Series to be rather intimidating in the rear of a 911, but some realizations quickly become the topic of affection.

First and foremost, the engine bay is immaculately clean and uncluttered. Since the original relay box, computer, and oiling system are all removed, all that remains is the motor.

Secondly, the LS Series is a very simple motor in appearance. Since the very sophisticated GM computer monitors all systems hundreds of times a second, the need for multiple redundant electrical or mechanical systems is unnecessary.

Finally, the amount of accessibility to all the necessary systems is amazing. If you have ever tried to perform the maintenance work on a stock six in a 911, you know how hard it can be. After the LS Series conversion, the reality of a rare visit to the engine bay will not press your patience or bloody your knuckles.

A pleasant surprise awaits you when you turn the key to bring all 350 horses (or more) to life. Unlike a typical 911 motor that drowns out the exhaust note with a mechanical clatter, the LS Series has a pleasant and quite subtle sound at idle, and is very comfortable while cruising down the interstate.

The most amazing reaction comes from the moment you crack the throttle body wide open, and your 911 hooks up hard. No turbo lag; no sloppy throttle engagement; no hesitation; nothing but seamless power. The quote used most frequently by our test drivers, "The throttle response was 'so' immediate!" This makes the potentially difficult balancing act of the 911, much more manageable... if not down right easy!

Reduced weight of the LS Series is also a HUGE advantage over the "big" 911 motors. Weighing less than a completely dressed 3.0L NA motor, the LS Series has turbo performance with much less than turbo six weight. With less weight in the rear and more power under your right foot, you can see why a converted 911 is so much fun to drive.

On the subject of engines, any new or used LS series GM V-8 will do wonderfully. Some minor modifications may be necessary, but you are welcome to call us for more specifics. If you are looking for our highest recommendation for a donor engine, Turn Key Engine Supply has a program custom tailored for the Renegade Hybrids 911 customer. A favorite balance of horse power, economy, transaxle strength, drivability, and budget, can be found right here.

AND...With the purchase of our 911 LS series conversion kit, you are eligible for a discount with Turn Key. How can you beat a new, dyno tuned, fuel injected, 400+ horse power engine, with all the prep work done for your 911 conversion, and a rock solid warranty, for under $8,000? You can't...even with a used motor. This is why so many have turned to Renegade and Turn Key to provide the solution! For further information give us a call!

Maybe you like the simplicity of a carburetor but seek the weight savings of the all aluminum LS Series? Thanks to a hand-full of manufacturers including Edelbrock, MSD, and even GM, they have developed a manifold that will replace the LS Series intake and allows for the installation of a four-barrel carburetor. Furthermore, MSD Corp. has used their expertise to manufacture an ignition control system that uses the stock individual coil packs on the factory LS Series and the factory cam trigger ring hidden inside the engine. Together, these clever creations eliminates the need for the GM computer or custom harness, and makes the Renegade LS Series 911 engine conversion even easier yet.
